When I was living in southern California, Cinco De Mayo was a much bigger deal than it is in Kaysville Utah. Wonder why? Anyway, my roomies and I used to throw Cindo De Mayo parties with all the fixins. At our parties it was all about the drinks. Borrow blenders from the neighbors and make virgin margaritas (or regular if that’s your thang) and daiquirs. They are delicious and refreshing!
And who says you can’t celebrate May 5 in Kaysville?
Here’s a few fun ideas if you want to throw your own Cinco de Mayo party…
Decor and Recipes from Real Simple

You can buy pinatas at Zurchers for around $10. Hang streamers from the ceiling fans and turn them on. Brightly colored tissue paper makes great decor, you can buy a huge pack at Hobby Lobby for $4.99.
And Mexican food is delicious and cheap. Make gourmet quesadillas, salsa and fresh guacomole. Throw on some chips and make fun drinks and you’ve got yourself a party.
