Lima Bean Kids

These personalized tee’s from Lima Bean Kids are pretty cute. When naming my child Cohen, I knew he wouldn’t ever find his name on key chain and license plate mobiles at the gas station. I know, it’s a tragedy. But it is fun for kids to see their names on something. These tee’s are just the thing.

You pick the color, graphic and name. $30.00

Nie Nie Day

If you don’t already know, Design Mom has declared today Nie Nie day. Many, many bloggers have donated their time, talents and items to a silent auction, hosted by Design Mom.

Photobucket
All the proceeds from the auction will go to the Nie Nie recovery fund. I am so impressed with the amount of love that people are sending in, especially because so many don’t even know this family. The power of people and the internet is amazing.

So..go shopping! It’s for a good cause! Many of the auctions end in a few days so you have time to bid on your most favorite things. It’s guilt free shopping ladies, join in the fun!

Moo Cards

I know those of you that have blogs are constantly giving out your blog address. This is a darling and classy way to give out the address without scribbling it on the corner of a sticky note.

They are called Moo cards. You can make them for any occasion really. They are smaller than business card size and are adorable. They also make postcards, gift tags, etc. You can use their designs or design your own. The sky is the limit.

A selection of MiniCards and their plastic box

Keep out!
Brand yourself!

Remember me?

This gal from Just Something I Made took a spin off Moo cards and made her own. Pretty dang cute.

While Moo Cards are all the rage, I found that by making my own mini blog cards I could customize both sides and print at a fraction of the cost. I wanted something to toss in my car and purse that had both my work blog as well as my craft & inspiration blog addresses on the same card. Although one of the upsides to Moo Cards is that each individual card can have a different image, that’s not something I needed.
For my cards, I carefully placed the narrow artwork 2-up on each side. Ran through Overnight Prints as business cards with a promotional discount code and spent only $10 total for 100 cards. I then cut one or two at a time with my paper cutter. (Tip: once you measure where to cut, place tape on your board to make for faster card placement.) And there it is- 200 mini blog cards. I receive great comments every time I whip one out.

Monster Birthday Party

Happy Birthday Cohen!

We gave Cohen a little Monster Birthday Party for his 2nd birthday since he’s our “little monster!” It was pretty fun!

Monster pins from vozamer.etsy.com. Each pin has a little saying on it like, “I bike” or “I like cookies.” And the stuffed monster is from Daisy the Doe.

Favors for the kiddies and I precut shapes for the kids to make monster puppets.

More favors for the kids and toothpicks for the Monster Burgers and cake. I served Monster Burgers (with all the fixin’s you can imagine) gourmet potato chips, lemon fries, green salad and fresh fruit.

We hung balloons and little monsters from the trees in the yard.

The cake was from Dan’s bakery, they did a great job! Cohen’s monster shirt is also from Nissa Lisa.

Here’s the little monster himself. Isn’t he cute? And that’s his new bike from Grandpa!

We just love that boy!

Happy Birthday Cohen! Thank you for bringing so much joy and excitement to our lives. You are such a fun and sweet little boy and you make us happy every day. Even when you are a little monster. :)

Nie Nie

Just wanted to follow up on the post the other day about the Nielson Family. Design Mom is hosting a silent auction in their honor on Thursday.

Here are the details. She also has great ideas for anyone who wants to help.

When tragedy strikes someone we love, our hearts swell, and the urge to take action is almost relentless. I know many of us are feeling that way about Stephanie and Christian. We want to take action. To do something. Some of us know them personally. Some of us know them through Nie Nie Dialogues. Some of us just heard about them and can’t seem to think of anything else.

Well. I am still feeling that urge to take action. So here I go. I’m officially declaring next Thursday, August 28th, Nie Nie Day. The plan: instead of my usual Giveaway, I’ll be hosting a silent auction at Design Mom. With all proceeds going directly to the Stephanie & Christian Paypal fund. What’s the prize? Well Ms. Impatient. You’ll just have to wait until Thursday to find out. Although I promise it will be great. And something that Stephanie would love.

Nie Nie

I don’t actually know this family, but I read her blog, Nie Nie. Christian and Stephanie Nielson were in a plane accident about a week ago. They survived but are severely injured and burned.

The blogging world lets us into the lives, thoughts and ideas of people we wouldn’t normally have the chance to meet.

She is truly the cutest girl. Updates are on her sister’s blog (below). They are asking for prayers, cards and donations.

I can’t get her sweet family out of my mind and am posting this so that more prayers can be had in their behalf. They have four darling children that are being cared for by the family.

Davis County Fair

There is something about local fairs and carnivals that are so magical. We went to the Davis County Fair tonight and it was a blast.

I don’t know how greasy food, crazy rides and conversations with carni’s can be so fun, but it just is! I am bummed that I missed the demolition derby, my very favorite wt event. Maybe next year!
