Girls Camp

The reason I’ve been behind in blogging and everything else in my life is for one reason…GIRLS CAMP! And it has finally come and gone. We had a great theme, He Loves Me and used flowers for each ward. I am left with lots of fun ideas if any of you are in Young Women’s, Activity Days, camp, etc.  And call me first, because I have extras you are welcome to!!!

Thank you’s for Camp Directors & Food Committee (locket and church music on a cd)

Each night, each girl received a treat on her pillow

I  used Cotton Cord on a lot of the items from Raffit Ribbons

Each girl received a Welcome Packet, complete with a cotton drawstring bag, flower pen, journal, seed packet and flower sucker. (Bags from Tans Club, journals from Hobby Lobby)

We hung signs around with markers for girls to write on and share

Lodge decor was Flower Pom Poms and Paper Flowers from Luna Bazaar.

I cut out and laminated paper flowers that we had throughout camp

The girls made this for our Family Home Evening activity. A tissue flower with their name on the leaf. We hung them on the walls through out the lodge.

This was the workshop that the Stake Young Women’s Presidency did. They focused on different topics on a huge flower that they made.

Our group activity was Let’s Make a Deal. We played it in college and it was a riot. The girls had a lot of fun!

For crafts, the girls make cards that we are donated to Women’s Shelters when they have a birthday, get a job, etc.

They also made flower rings with beads from MK Supplies, Silk Flower pony tail holders, Bracelets,  & Bobby Pins with Flower Beads.

They also made magnet boards

Camp was a lot of fun. I am really glad I was called, but I am also glad it’s over!

Baby Blessing

Congratulations to the Croshaws on their new little cutie, Wesley. He is a doll! Allyson requested some ideas for the blessing…

Here are a couple, let me know if you need more!

She also asked about the giant balloons from the New York Party (I got those at Zurchers, but I’ve only seen them in Utah in red) I think if you searched online, you might find something?? The big jars (italian punch bowls) are $12 at Target or Wal-mart. You can borrow mine if you need them!

So Blessed - All White

Make poms-poms out of white tissue paper and hang them from the ceiling.

White Chinese lanterns or white paper circles.

Serve regular food (let me know if you need menu ideas), but have an all white dessert or candy buffet .

A few simple white flowers will tie everything together
Light pink peonies and ivory gardenias in a platter
Wrapping-Paper Table Runner
It doesn’t have to be all white. You could do white with a few other crisp, clean colors, like turquoise & orange, lime green and blue, yellow and green.
Picture Perfect - Baby Face
Focus on Wesley’s cute little face and put it on everything! Choose any colors and I can help you with the face circles, etc.

Twins Baby Shower

My friend Holly is throwing a baby shower for twins and requested some ideas. She has to transport the party to California (LUCKY!) so it has to be easy to put together away from home. PS. Whichever one you choose, I can design the toppers, etc. that you need.

Here you go!

New York Party

Still catching up on my blogging! We threw a surprise party for my Father-in-Law’s 65th birthday at the first of the July. He was born in Brooklyn, so my sister-in-law Elise came up with the idea to give him a New York party. It was a lot of fun. We served grilled New York Steak, Appletini’s (virgin of course, dang it!) and New York Cheesecake, along with salads in italian punch bowls and baked potatoes.

Each table was name after one of the 5 burroughs of New York, we had The best of Frank Sinatra playing the whole time and famous New York landmarks were posted throughout the party. We also copied pictures of Dave and wrapped them around chocolate bars as favors and posted the rest of the pictures throughout the yard. Each of his kids gave a really beautiful toast and my mother-in-law wrote the sweetest poem. It was a really fun party!
